Malawi – Satemwa

Satemwa is a 3rd generation family owned Coffee Estate in the ShireHighlands of Malawi established in 1923. Malawi is a small country in the southern part of Africa and was the first country in Africa where tea was planted commercially – even before Kenya!

For nearly 100 years Satemwa have been cultivating superior Organic and Fairtrade coffees, which are exported around the world. Grown, harvested and processed with love, passion and respect for the environment and communities around them.

Roast: Medium

From where : Satemwa,Thyolo, Malawi
How high? : Grown at 1000 metres above sea level (MASL)
Tastes and Smells: Citrus and Nutmeg.
Best brewed with: We wouldn’t recommend this for Espresso or as a strong, bold morning cup. Head over to Our House for that.

This coffees tea-like acidity doesn’t work too well with milk. It makes a really bright, zesty, spicy black coffee, so gentler brewing methods like Aero or Pourover will work well and really bring those delicate fruits and spices out.

Aeropress, Espresso, Filter, French Press, StoveTop/Mokka/Percolator, Whole Bean
